Save Money and the Environment by Refilling your Cartridge for Printer

You don’t need to empty your wallet every time the “low ink” light on your cartridge for printer appears. Stop worrying and start refilling your ink printer cartridges yourself! It will take less than 15 minutes to do. Ink in bottles, an instruction book and syringes for the ink is what is generally in a refill kit. Some kits will also include an air balance clip which is used to balance the air inside the cartridge to guarantee proper flow of ink. Some kits also include a small handheld drill so that the consumer can drill a tiny hole in the tip of the cartridge.

Process for Refilling:

1. Fill the syringe with your choice of color ink. Make sure to spread out many sheets of scrap paper or cloth to avoid a mess. Every cartridge for printer holds a different amount of ink. Usually in Epson made printers, the black ink cartridge contains almost 16 ml. each and each color ink cartridges have space for about 6 ml. You will need to make certain you read the instructions to confirm how much ink your cartridge for printer contains.

2. Bore a little hole at the top of the ink cartridge prior to inserting the syringe, one hole for each color cartridge chamber. The hole should be at the top of the cartridge near the label. Lightly push the syringe through the drilled hole and push to the bottom of the cartridge and toward the outlet hole. To steer clear of having the ink foam, permit air to be introduced into the chamber little by little, filling each cartridge.

3. There is no need to re-seal the newly drilled refill holes because there are already manufactured breather holes on each ink printer cartridges.

4. Any ink that is unused in the syringe can be returned to the bottle. Be sure to clean every syringe with water and dry them completely to reuse them for future use. You should also identify the syringes for each color so that every syringe is only used for one color.

5. As soon as you have positioned the ink printer cartridge back into the laser copier, be sure to run the printers cleaning cycle at least 1 to 3 times. If you glimpse any gaps in the printing, be certain to run the cleaning cycle for a second time.

Each cartridge can be refilled prior to the cartridge becoming empty to preclude the cartridges ink chamber from drying out which causes blockage. This will allow the laser copier to recognize the ink cartridge as “full” which allows printing with a refilled ink cartridge.
